How does the lost & found recovery work?
When you mark your item as lost, anyone who scans the tag sees a "This item is lost" alert with your message. The finder can report the find anonymously, and you coordinate the return through SmartMrk's built-in messaging — no personal contact details are shared until you choose.
Can I offer a reward for returning a lost item?
Yes. When activating lost mode on property and pet tags, you can set a reward amount and custom message. The reward is displayed to the finder when they scan the tag.
What's the difference between QR stickers and NFC stickers for property?
QR stickers are printed codes that can be scanned by any phone camera. NFC stickers have an embedded chip that also allows tap-to-scan. NFC stickers are more durable and harder to counterfeit, ideal for high-value items.
