Time of day and day of week, whether it was scanned by QR or NFC, the kind of device that scanned it, whether the tag is active or in Lost Mode, whether this is the very first scan a tag has ever had, and roughly where in the world it happened. Combine any of these on one rule.

• After-hours only: get notified when a warehouse tag is scanned outside business hours — every daytime scan stays silent
• First scan only: know the moment a newly issued asset tag is used for the very first time
• By location: get an alert only when a scan happens somewhere it should not
• Every other scan is still recorded, just without a notification — no alert fatigue for the ones that do not matter

Why this is a Business feature

The recipient does not change — Smart Actions still notifies whoever manages the tag, the same as it would on a personal Mrk. What changes is the volume. A personal account might have three tags, scanned occasionally, where every scan is worth knowing about. An organization can have hundreds of tags scanned all day, and an alert for every single one stops being useful fast. Smart Actions is how a high-volume account keeps the signal without the noise, which is why it ships with Business rather than as a personal add-on.

Set up once per tag, no code required

Rules live on the tag itself, built from a simple WHEN / IF / THEN form — no integration, no webhook to wire up yourself. An admin or manager on the team can build and adjust rules the same way they manage any other part of a tag.
