A Mrk is meant to be scanned by people you have never met, which makes the question of what they see the most important setting in the product. You choose it field by field. The things that need to be read in an emergency stay visible; the things that do not can sit behind a PIN, or not be there at all.

Identity Mrks skip this — a badge is public by design.
Public, or behind a PIN
Mark any section as protected and it renders as a locked card — visible enough that a responder knows it exists, closed until someone enters the PIN you set. Emergency contacts and critical medical facts stay public by default, because a PIN on those defeats the purpose.
- PINs are hashed with scrypt, never stored as text
- Verification is constant-time, so the PIN cannot be guessed by timing the response
- A locked section shows that it is locked — a blank space would just look like missing information
- Identity Mrks are public by design: a badge exists to be read, so there is no PIN flow to misconfigure
Your contact details are never handed over
Someone who scans your Mrk can reach you without being given your number or your email. The conversation runs through the platform, and you decide if and when to share anything more.
What we do not do
Profile data is not sold, and it is not used to build an advertising profile. Scan analytics are for you — the owner — and stay inside your dashboard.
